Martin Sawers - Psychotherapy
I have run a private psychotherapy practice since 1994, previously in Slough, and throughout in Bristol, training at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling (BCPC) from 1989 to 1997. Although trained as a psychotherapist, I also have considerable experience of working in Primary Care, having worked in GP surgeries from 1994 to 2012, and in NHS Talking Therapies from 2012 to 2025. I was a member of Counsellors' Collective South West until 2024.
Psychotherapy is usually conducted under an open-ended contract, but short-term work is also possible. Using psychotherapy, you can explore all kinds of life issues in a safe and confidential space. In our initial meeting we can establish the basis of our work together. Sessions are normally arranged on a weekly basis, but other arrangements can be negotiated. I mostly work online, but can offer sessions in the Chew Valley.
